Dear America, whatever happened to the New Colossus?

Whilst doing my usual morning “stroll” on the internet, one story set me to a standstill. I couldn’t bring myself to “scroll” past it. America, once thought as “the greatest country in the world”, the country of “the New Collusus” with the famous inscription “Give me your tired, your poor/Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free” has now passed an act to ban acts of good in public places, more specifically a ban on feeding the hungry and the homeless. Way to come out of the holiday seasons don’t you think?
