Amid the frustration & demonstration of civil society activists, parliamentarians made their way to Nejmeh Square where a law to extend the current parliament’s mandate until the 20th of November 2014 was passed. Tomatoes were hurled at several convoys in Beirut, but to no avail…the law was passed.

    In 2008, ten thousand tents went up in front of parliament and not a single arrest. In 2013 one tent is attempted and the protestor is arrested. Makes no sense at all.
